Thanks! it's no problem at all, just a phone call and $2000 in shipping, then after 4-6 weeks it arrives to Gothenburg, and then i'll need to pay 52.5% in customs, tax and other fees before i can pick it up, and the registration will cost around $1000, yet still it's a lot cheaper than buying one here..

Do you have to pay 52.5% on the price you gave to customs? It sad its cheaper to ship across the sea then the US.

I think Oskar is confused and is shipping it to New York. That sounds like our taxes!

Oskar, what we do here is have the seller make out the receipt for less money, so you pay less taxes. ;)

That looks like a pretty good truck. It is 4 wheel drive though. You are better off with a 2 wheel drive. They are a lot less trouble and lower to the ground. I would only get a 4x4 if you absolutely need to have it.
Oskar wrote:Thanks for the info oldestof11! i have decided that i want an intercooled model, they usually have more equipment and an OD trans is good for fuel economy.. what mileage can i expect at highway speed of 55-60mph?
why didn't they build them with converter lock? didn't chrysler have any TCC transmissions back then?
i know nothing about chrysler products, have always owned GM's but once i did a rebuild on my friends 727 transmission, that one was quite simple and easy to work on.

i'm thinking of bidding on this one: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/RARE-199 ... 1e78056829

is there someone that don't live too far from it and is able to check it out for me? of course i will pay as much as you request.

yes, that's one easy way to resolve it, but one needs to be careful, the customs aren't dumb so they know what things cost, but a few 1000 lower won't bother anybody!

not only do i need 4wd, sometimes i need difflock and snow chains too! i live quite long from the nearest neighbour and the road to my house goes straight through a big field, so if it's a snowstorm i barely can't see the road, in 2wd these trucks can't barely move on plain ground...
i'm planning to put torsen differentials front&rear, is detroit truetrac availible for these axles? or is there some other alternative?

and i thought that the 4wd don't cause any big issues? the transfer case is a NP205 and those are bullet proof, and the Dana 60 front axle shouldn't cause too much troubel either, or have i missed something?

The body parts on rockauto are NOT the same as the parts dodge used. They are cheap imports. You would be better off to get your original bumper rechromed. The chrome on the imports is really shabby and wears off in a few short years.
The import grills lack a lot of the details. The chrome is thin and the "D O D G E" logo is not there. Nor are the hole drilled to put the logo. Buy the grill from a Dodge dealer.. Have them inspect it and repack it with a lot more packing stuffing before they ship it to you. Over half of them are broken in shipment to the dealer.

I noticed BRAND NEW front swaybar bushings and end links. Nice find!

yes i think i got a nice truck! i made an independent inspection and they found some tiny rust on the front bumper so i'll order a new one from rockauto and get it shipped with the truck, but overall it's in good condition and the transmission was totally overhauled with a new converter. brake rotors and rear brake shoes was changed too.

the grille needs replacement too, i found a new one at rockauto, but it looks like it's missing the DODGE letters, has anybody here bought a new aftermarket grille? is it possible to buy only the letters and stick them to the new grille?

and, i would also like to buy a "CUMMINS TURBO DIESEL" sticker to place on either the top of the windshield, or both side doors, is there any source for those?

Just placed an order of 5 different decals, Westach-gauges (one dual boost/EGT, and one transtemp gauge) and a 2-gauge A-pillar pod. :D

winter is soon here, so i bought 4 new winter tyres for my truck, got some really good Nokian metal stud tyres, they are the best road legal tyres availible, got them in 285/75-16, hopefully i'll get some lower RPM's with this dimension.

also i took off the big standard muffler and mounted small 3" full flow mufflers, with a 4" end pipe. used stock mountings and welded mounting ears to the new muffler and pipe.
