New guy from louisiana

Postby rabbit86_06 » Fri Mar 22, 2013 9:07 am

Not new to the diesel world just new to the 1st gen. I just recently did a bunch of swapping. It first started with a 85 crew with non-inter cooled 5.9 then swapped for a 1993 2wd dually then swapped to the truck have now 1989 4x4 signle cab long bed. The guy i got the 89 from already has tweaked it some pumps been turned up just needs timing, aftermarket injectors, hybrid turbo and build 3 speed auto. First mods will be putting a 7.3 inter cooler in.
Hope to take in as much info possiable. Thanks in advance.

I remember those days. The non intercooled trucks with the stock 18cm turbo would oral coal until the cows came home. I had some of that type of fun in my younger years. Like last year

Ugh I liked the other wheels better. This whole black wheel fad needs to end.

This thing has a bigger housing turbo so it cleans up pretty quick.

The other wheels were 22" and rode like garbage. I like the black look to each their own. I don't want to spend time polishing chrome when it could be time spent turning wrenches.

I don't want to turn wrenches OR polish chrome! I just want to drink beer and harass the animals!

Dazed is just thinking about chicks, he knows how much they like a man rolling on dubs so of course he's gonna go for the bling.

I dig black wheels, but those have too much going on for me. I start cussing every time I have to toothbrush around those little rivets on my Outlaw2's, I'd have a stroke when I had to clean those.

Nice truck, man. 8)

I thought drinking beef and turning wrenches required each other.
Thanks it's still a work in progress.

It's not very reciprocal, I can drink without wrenching easy, but not the other way around. I also notice that, when wrenching, the more I drink the less I wrench, up to a point where I completely stop wrenching at all and just go build a fire and stand around it until more people show up.
