1989 f350 fummins truck

Been lurking for a while since I started the swap in my truck and know a couple of guys on this site. Figured I would post a welcome message finally.

The story: Found a 89 D250 with a cummins that a friend had that was wrecked and left at his place. Got the truck and stripped the motor since I needed a crew cab. Went on the search for a truck, found a 89 F350 dually 4x4 crew cab from Kansis. No rust with a worn out 460 gas motor. Started the swap and the rest is history.

As it sits 89 truck with 95 front end. 265/70/19.5's, 4.11 gears, nv4500 with divorced 205 t-case. Motor stuff, timing adjustment, rotated star wheel, boost pin turned, 12 cm housing, 4" turbo back, cold side off a 92 plumbed through a 01 intercooler.

Main duties, pulling camper and car hauler for a diesel suzuki rockcrawler. 10k ish for the camper. With towing the camper running it at 70 gives me about 12-13 mpg and the truck pulls 30 psi boost, max 1200 egt. Just wish it had a little more.

Just picked up a used snow kit to help with mpg.

That's my story and I'm sticking too it.

Sweeeeeeeeeet. For a Ford. ;)

I bet having 19.5 drives and steelies all the way around it aren't helping your mileage. =\

Thanks and true for the tires but the thought was to help with the 4.11's. I think it takes the overall gear down to a 3.73 if I went back to the 235/85/16's that the truck came with. But they are HEAVY.... and the last set of tires I will buy for the truck for a looong while. :D

I'm looking at a 89 2wd like that now.
