Put a 3/4" box end wrench over the injector............screw a lug nut onto the top of the injector...........whack open end with a hammer across the manifold bolt area (using it as a fulcrum point)............out comes injector.

I have a tendency to break off bolts and strip screws so I am trying to be careful.
I tried with a nut and small pry bar, I even tapped it, no go so far.
So I did some searching last night and found a home tool I am going to make.
Should work slick, I will let you know how it works.

:D I found the FSS spring....little bugger was under one of the rubber inner fender well pieces.
The injector puller I made worked great also, nothing hi tech just a Toy lug nut, a bolt, two nuts, & a washer (mixed with some wire).
Now i need to decide weather I am going to have the stock ones rebuilt or go with some stage ones???

What are "stage ones"? Example: 5x.012", or 6x.016", etc. in terms of nozzle orifice count and size.

You could talk with rc (Eric) about having your stockers flow honed (opened up) .

Who is Rc? Is that his site name? Were is he located? Is he the hungry diesel?
I am hoping to get the truck up and running soon, we would like to get at least a couple camping trips in this summer.
I am told the stage 1 are good for 30 +/- HP (depending on brand).

Stage 1, 2, 3, etc.... Became popular from DDP.

They don't use orifice counts like most brands due to their process on the nozzle (extrude honing). They use hp gain numbers, which isn't a realistic expectation and also a lpm (flow of the nozzle) which really shows what's going on.

As far as most other +30 or +40 hp injectors..... most of that came from the "marine" application world. As a Bosch 190 engine (190hp) would be considered a +30hp injector in our world.

Thanks for explaining that.
Mt first 12V (98 quad cab) had an auto and I could not afford to rebuild it so I left the truck stock. This truck I am not planning on getting to carried away with. If I find all the parts to change it over to a 5 or 6 spd I may do more to the motor after the swap. But for now I want to keep it on the mellow side so the auto lasts till I find all the pieces to convert it.
I did send you a couple e-mails.

Good mornin..... :;-|:
I pulled the injectors the other day and was able to work out a time to get them tested (last night). They all tested good and the spray pattern was good. So I guess its time to get the pump tested...

Good, I'm glad you were able to get them tested.
