1973 Crew Cab Fummins from SoCal

Postby Mckinney » Sun Dec 01, 2013 9:12 pm

Hello All!

I live right by the beach in Santa Monica, CA and I own a 1989 D250 CTD with a 1973 Ford F350 crew cab body on it. It retains the full D250 frame, drivetrain, and main parts but with the old ford body. I purchased the truncated this way and it needs a ton of work to get it where I'd like it to be. It is my only vehicle and there for my DD that I use to commute 60 miles found trip to work and back. It has ran great with minimal repairs. I'm joining to learn more about it and the best modifications to get great power along with mpg. I look forward to meeting with some other members in my area.

Here is a couple pics of my truck

Welcome!

If it wouldn't be a problem could you snap a few pics of the engines bay. In the not so distant future I will supposedly be swapping a Cummins into a 71 camper special and could use the insight :)

Welcome!

Nice Ford too! Your driver's side front door shows some evidence of why I'd never want to live in California.

Ellis, '71 is a body style older FWIW. I'm not sure how different they are.

That thing is shaped the same as the 71,from the engine bay pic he has here there's very little different under hood.....except for the big blue 390 residing in the 71.

I can definitely grab some more pics but do keep in mind the frame is still a d250. There is a ton is space around the motor the way it is though. The scratch on the door is from a pole that the previous owner backed up into. It's way too large to be a door ding but I do feel the pain from "California" drivers on my fiancé's brand new car. Man it's frustrating!
I'm not home now but I will be later today to post more engine bay pics
