New to the forum, not to First Gen's.
I've had three now (if gassers count?). Two mid to late 70's 4x4 gassers. First was a nice standard cab Power Wagon, with a 440 and auto Trans. Second was a rusted out Club Cab with a slant six, 4 speed manual and a wooden "flat bed." I liked the beater better.
A few years ago I got a very nice 1992 D250 LE Club Cab with a Cummins/Getrag and only 60K and change on it. I love(d) that truck. Then this past spring some moron drove right into me, taking out the passenger side. His insurance accepted full responsibility. But, I got nothing but "run around" from the body shop. Come December, I'm still just driving it as is. Some guy flags me down in a parking lot. Says he wants to buy my truck. I tell him I don't want to sell, I love my truck. He asks how much IF I wanted to sell? I tell him, he offers me a thousand OVER my price (cash money). Well...goodbye truck! Nowwith that and a check from the insurance company, I've got $11,000 to spend on another one just like my old one. Only without the body damage.
