New from Iowa

Postby TheSilverBullet » Mon Jan 13, 2014 12:01 pm

New member here been around diesels since I was young (dad is a diesel mechanic). I've owned 3 gen 1s now. My current one is a 90 w250 5 speedy my dad bought this truck in 94. I spent a lot of time in it when I was young. He sold it in 2010 and for the record the odo quit in 02 and it had 445 I imagine its in the 600 range now. Anyway tracked it down and bought it this spring.

I plan on painting it next summer. I have a good bed for it and looking for fenders. The cab is solid esp for being in 24 Iowa winters. It just needs a passenger rocker. The guy that bought it painted the frame and everything under the hood which I didn't care for lol. Also I'd like to add that it's never had an injection pump or the head off. It is currently my dd as my head gasket is out of my 98. Other futures plans include a g56 and possibly an exhaust brake as money allows.

Another edit: truck is nicknamed brownie that's ie not y!

Love those wheels, they never made a better looking set. Hit those puppies with some acid and a toothbrush though, I like 'em chalky. 8)

Nice truck, man.

Ike you bought those from me. 3 nv4500s and a getrag.
Taco claw those are 15 inch slots by the way kind of rare. It's going to get 16 in Alcoa Or 3rd gen wheels like to get e rated tires under her for pulling.

Haha very true have yet to break my 6 speed in my 98. What did you do with your visor off the red cab? I might be getting one for brownie and curious what fastened it on to cab and if it leaked or not.

It's just taking up space in my tiny garage. It had sheet metal screws attaching it last time, with lots of silicone sealing things up. I never had it leak.

You said you are looking for some 3rd gen wheels? I've been thinking of pulling mine off, and going back to 16's with 285's. The 17's I got have to 315's on them...
