New from the central coast california

Postby Cap » Wed Jan 22, 2014 9:35 am

Hi everyone, just picked up a 1990 w350 last August, it is pretty beat up but getting better. My friend's dad passed and he found it in the back 40 along with a bunch of other junked vehicles. To work on it is like doing an archaelogical dig, the drive train is a dark mass of oozing dirt mystery. But it runs! So far new head gasket, new U joints, new brakes, new rear seals, 2nd gen wheels, tail lights, exhaust system... The engine feels pretty tired, the odometer is broke at 220k, no idea how many miles back it stopped. The records show it originated in Colorado and still has a block heater. Would love to rebuild it and will some day. I have about 5k total it now and can't wait to save up some more.
Thanks, Cap

Hey another 1990 W350 owner here from northern CA. I've had mine for just under a year. I found mine in a bit better shape but I bet you got yours for a steal. Or hell maybe it was free! Welcome Cap.
1990 W350. Getrag overfilled. Stock fuel. Stock turbo. M2 fuel pin. Hungry Diesel HVLP lift pump, 2nd gen IC w/ 3" Pusher Intake. Air bag set-up, onboard air. BD exhaust brake. Almost all 4" exhaust. Autometer's. Upgrades as money allows.

I paid 2k for it, One side is body damaged. I found most places support dodge rams down to 94 (2nd gen), but was able to score the missing body trim from a local junk yard. Body work will have to wait, suspension next. I'll get some pics posted.
