Well here is my new baby, had her for about 2.5 months now and loving every minute of it. Spent 2 weeks with it stripped down and repaired some floorboards and cab mount rust. Then spray lined the floor and glued down some Mass loaded vinyl for a little sound proofing. It'll take more love down the road but rides a damn sight more quietly after that mod. Can't wait for some spare funds to start playing with the motor more (LPG set up, springs and gizmos etc). And the air ride seat the PO installed  don't get much better then that bub. (Bostrum Talladega series) Haven't gotten her stuck yet and i've tried in some pretty serious snow with huh? tires. Gotta love that half ton motor over the front axle ;) looking forward to getting and hopefully giving some sound advise in the future. PS anyone know how to enable my avatar, cant get that one figured out. I'm significantly more mechanically inclined then i am computer savvy (hence my love to the VE pump!!!) ((KISS principle, Keep It Simple Stupid))

Cheers,
Ray

Welcome! Go to the "User Control Panel" in the top left corner under the logo, then hit "profile" and under that you will see avatar, signature, etc. Filling out your sig is a good idea too when asking for help troubleshooting so we know what you have. ;)

Whalecum! Interesting machine you have there. I always kind of wanted to take my Dodge on a cross country trip. And then I remember how my butt falls asleep at about an hour in.

Is it like an air seat in a semi? Do you bang your head off of the ceiling much? I feel like I sit way high up in the cab in a semi and I'm only 6'-0".

Similar to a semi seat but built to be a low profile version(also, it's the mid back version, but the high back would fit). I'm 6'2-3" depending on gravity and how lazy i feel that day, and i have it set at the lowest position which gives me a solid 3-4 inches of head room when the seat tops out in travel(and about 4-5in of travel at that setting, more travel at a different setting). I have to hit a serious bump for that, but no head knocking, not even close. Eventually i plan to do a little fab work and drop the floor pan a few inches in the rear to gain more travel out of the seat. Right now, with the way our floors slope under the seat area, it is mounted with a piece of 3x3 box channel under the front of the base plate to level it out. If you can score one for the right price (ahem! Ebay! ahem!) deffinantly worth it, I plan to grab one for the lady some day. Though she doesn't mind the RamCharger seat that is over there. That sucker is comfy too.

I joined the site today and my Avatar is disabled as well. I am pretty sure that you need more posts before this function is enabled.
