turbo lag....

Postby henderson » Thu Oct 23, 2014 7:41 pm

Hi everyone,
I have a 1990 w250 with a hx35/40 turbo with a bhaf(4" intake) and 4 inch exhaust from turbo. I just bought the truck a month ago so im not 100% sure what the last guy did as far as settings on the pump but he did tell me he put a fuel pin in and 50hp injectors. The truck runs great except for a heavy engine vibration and bad turbo lag. Does anyone have any info that might be useful to this situation?

PS. The vibration isnt really that bad but only mention it if it may help someones diagnosis.

Does it smoke badly while waiting for the turbo to spool? Auto or manual?

my 92 dodge came stock with an 18cm exhaust housing. I replaced that with a 14cm exhaust housing. this pushes the exhaust through faster and therefore makes the turbo spool up fast. You'll notice a huge difference. 14 cm or 16 cm will help. I recommend 14.
