New here, 1st time Dodge owner

While researching the truck I'm getting tomorrow, I ended up at this site several times at the result of several Google searches. It seems there is a good bit of expertise on these older trucks here and I need to learn. The truck I'm getting is a 93 D150 LS club cab short bed. It's got a 318 with AC and power everything. After having Ford's, Chevys, Toyotas I'm up to trying something new to me. My daughter recently got a 95 Jeep ZJ with the 5.2 engine and I love it, so this really appeals to me. Future plans may include 4x4 conversion and maybe a diesel, time will tell. For now I look forward to seeing what i can learn and do from the wealth of information on this site. BTW my name is Terry and I recently moved to NW Louisiana from Southern California. I hope I can contribute as much as I take, look forward to getting to know you guys and my new truck better.
Anything I should look for off the bat? Common issues that need attention I should know about? Thanks in advance for any help!

Howdy neighbor! Don't know about any common issues with those old gas jobs but, watch out for wiring issues. That's a mopar thing in general. Especially with the headlights. They eat the switch and its plug when using high wattage bulbs.

As issues flare we'll help

Welcome again.

Not to steer you away from here, but Ramchargercentral.com is probably a better place for the gas jobs. They're mopar nuts over there and mostly gas-oriented.

If you put a diesel or Dana 60/70's under it you'll probably find better info here, but for gasser 1/2 ton stuff they're yor guys.

Welcome regardless, hope we can still help you out. 8)

Thanks for the heads up. A 12v is in the future so I'll likely look around for swap info since the chassis thread says the ec trucks all used the larger and heavier 8" frame. Now that I know it can handle it I'm determined to do it

Thanks guys - I'm really excited as this is the first Dodge I have owned, really liking the planning stages of how I want to set it up. Since these are definitely not mainstream, its more involved choosing your mods based on whats available vs. what has to be fabbed. I have been building trucks for over 20 years now, cant remember the last time a 1st gen rolled into the shop - now there will be one outside everyday for the other brands to drool over.

So what section do I check to find the best info on swapping from a gasser to an oil burner? The 318 runs great but want to start stockpiling parts for the eventual conversion as parts pop up that i can afford

So I have a problem, I sold my gasser and looking to buy a Cummins, but cant access the for sale section to try and see if there's something I can buy from here - can one of the mods fix that please?
