Saying Hi (again)

Postby Jelmer » Tue Jan 20, 2015 3:19 am

I intreduced myself a couple of years ago but alot has changed so I do it again

I'm Jelmer from the Netherlands, Europe. My hobby is cars and trucks and especialy RWD/4WD ones. From 2007-2009 I lived in Texas and bought a 96 Cummins as a daily and a 78 D300 where I've put in a non IC Cummins. After a while my brother came over for a holyday and bought a pretty clean 93 D250 5 speed. After I went back to Holland I took this 93 with me and sold the 96 and 78.
So the 93 is technicaly my brothers but we consider it ours. In 2011 we made a straigt thru 4" stainless exhaust. In 2012 we had it resprayed because of some damage (blow out, hitting a lamp post and a woman not paying attention) and after that i got parked in the barn because we didn't had time to finish it. Last winter we took it to our hobby barn and started working on it again. We took the bed of , painted the frame in a rust prefent, oil based paint and had all brackets and bolt/nuts galvanized including the towbar. We also replaced the clutch which was worn and replaced all seals and rubber of the cab. Doors, rockers, bed sides and cab posts where all sprayed on the inside with a anti rust wax. All this rust prefention is requierd in Holland duw to a very moist climat and salt in the winters even though we don't use it in winter.

That's a nice unit. I have those exact same rims on my 93. If you go at them with some abrasive they shine pretty nicely
