newbie from North Texas

Postby cervezamoney » Sat Feb 07, 2015 5:32 pm

New to the forum and to owning diesels. Hope to learn as much as possible. Just got a 1993 D250 LE, club-cab, 2wd, Cummins, and 5spd. With 205K on the clock. Love it the more I drive it. I do badly want to find information on swapping 2nd or 3rd gen rear axles into my truck or possible a GM 14 bolt. The Dana 70 I have now, I was told has 4:56 gears. At full throttle in 5th gear on flat road, I'm topped out at 75MPH. I never intend to haul much weight so loosing some low end pulling power isn't a concern to me. Thanks for any help, and for the knowledge compiled here.

Welcome!

Sounds like your truck is bone stock with 4.10's...we'll be able to help you get more road speed without an axle swap.

Have a 64' c1100 pickup with a 2000 silverado front frame clip and running gear. Have a cammed 6.0l on the engine stand for it. I'll get some pictures loaded this week.
