The condensed version is this: As you know, you'll need the adapter plate and starter. The driveshaft may need to be shortened due to the thicker adapter plate. You also have to control the converter lock up somehow. It's just a solenoid, so I used a toggle switch.
That thread is kind of a jumble because I wrote it as I was going along. If you have questions, just ask.
I got a starter, I got lucky and picked it up for $5. I took it apart and found bad brushes and replaced them. I will gladly look up the thread. Thank you for the information, I am anxious to read it.
