Hi from Oregon

Postby JWNathan » Mon Feb 09, 2015 7:49 pm

Hello there, checking in with you guys real quick. Just recently picked up a 93 W250, had a couple other Cummins but this is my first 12v. It's high mileage and of course is having some issues with my injection pump so I'll be hanging around here and reading. Already picked up some great info, but I'm sure I'll be asking some questions too. Thanks.

Welcome aboard!

I'll give you some advice right off....if you have to do one seal on your IP...then save yourself a lot of time and extra effort and do ALL the seals. Complete tear down and reseal with a Bosch DGK-121 reseal kit. ;)

Thanks RCCummins my issue is I need my pump rebuilt. I just thought this 12v was just gutless, so I picked up the fuel pin and gov spring, when I pulled the top off and noticed the idle screw was way in, and the tip of the fuel lever was broke off. The end where the full power screw pushes on. Runs and drives fine just wayyyy down on power hahaha.

Welcome! I've been about 15 yards into Oregon climbing on the banks of the Snake River. Pretty state.

If the fulcrum lever is damaged, that is a $400 part. May want to start looking for another, or another pump as a core, etc..

Welcome to the site. I am new myself, and the guys here are helpful. My experience has been very positive so far. I have an issue with my pump too, and hope to learn more about the design.

I got several core pumps...needless to say many good, used parts. Let me know if you need something, i.e. fulcrum lever assembly. PM I you can, if not, we'll work something out.

I would really like to talk to you about VE Pumps, if you have some time, I would like to learn more about them. I also want to know how to get more power out of them reliably. Can 600 Ft. IBS of torque, and 300 HP possibly be made? I would like to achieve this by this summer.

Absolutely. I made 286 hp with 601 lbft of torque in my '89 with factory injectors.

I would like to know how you accomplished that kind of power. What does it cost to achieve what you have done? What parts will I need? Did you modify your pump yourself?
