so, starting off

On this forum. Have owned a 2nd gen for 9 years and own a 1st now too. I've had it for about 2 years.

It's a '92 D250, stock. 5 speed, reg. cabw/ Callen camper.

I love it. Recently the odometer went out, at 189,313. I came here to see if I can find info on how to fix it.

Welcome!

Most of the odometer failures are because of broken gears, they are small and the plastic becomes brittle with age. There is a company that makes the gears, for about $20.

Or perhaps the VSS crapped out?

Vehicle Speed Sensor. If you have a functioning speedometer but no odometer, it isn't the issue. 95% of the time, its the gears in the speedometer/odometer assembly.
