I have been a member of the site for some time now but this weekend I finally got a truck from biloxi Mississippi.. Its a 93 W250 single cab with 155 on the odometer that still works, the truck used to be a chevron station service truck, you can still see remnants of the vinyl stickers they had on it if you look close enough. The truck is 100 percent stock, save for some backwoods modifications like a cb radio that wasn't even tuned right. and wires run off the battery terminals, a butt connector circus under the dash to go along with that. The cruise control works , also which i was surprised at that. Speedometer Is shot, gear selector dont show which gear its in. My rear brakes are squeaking. and about that, braking? what brakes? The steering is all messed up seeping fluid out of the pump, very loose. Its pretty rusty on the top of the cab. cracked grill, broken taillight. Pine needles in the heater box.
I cant detect anything wrong with the engine but i do have a check engine light, it may have something to do with my abs and park brake light coming on every time i hit the brakes , then i have to tap it again after i take off to get them to go off.
All these things wrong and many more, i wouldn't trade it though. I knew what i was getting myself into from the time Ive spent combing through this forum. Top priority is brakes and isolating the rust to keep it from spreading more. Glad to be a part of the 1st gen gang and look forward to learning.
I think i read the post right on how to post pictures so lets see if it works.
