new 1st gen owner from iowa

recently bought my first 1st gen a couple months back. I have owned two 97's, one 99, and a 06 mega cab and I got to say this is the best one ive owned so far. its a 90 2wd 5 speed with 135,000 on the clicker that I nicknamed gramps cause it looks like a 70 yr old man should be driving it. when I bought the truck I was all stock other ive done some work to it so far. fuel screw turned, denny t fuel pin, 3800 gov spring, timing to the head, 60lb springs, arp head studs, and a intercooled head that is o-ringed and flows around 200 on the bench (no paper work but was told by the guy who did the porting.) As of now in still has stock injectors and h1c but going to be buying a bigger set as soon as funds allow, and building a hx35/3b setup right now for air. Im not looking for a record breaking truck just something that is fun to drive and surprises people that are around it. Im glad there is a site just for 1st gens since all the other site are more on the p-pump cr kick. thanks you all for letting be apart of this site and will do my best to help out when I can!

Dude you just missed out! We just had a meet in Creston Iowa this weekend and most of the best minds in the 1st gen business were there! it would have been a good chance to meet some of us and get some tips. We'll be doing it again next year, just keep an eye on the board here.

ill try to get pictures as soon as i can if i can find someone with a smart phone or a digital camera (im still in the stone age) lol and PToombs i had full intentions of going out there but go caught up with work instead. 3 of my buddys went out there tho (TheSilverBullet, 90_midnightmadness) and a third i dont think hes on 1st gen.org. Next yr im going out there come bleed or blister!

I met those guys! The 3rd guy is the Bondo Bandit, I think that's who Ricky said he was. If you come with them, make sure your truck is set up for a high speed run. Those guys ran 85-88 most of the way up there. Except for the 3rd guy, they had to stop twice to let him catch up. lol

that does not surprise me at all lol there diffently a blast to hangout with. we all grew up within a 20 mile radius of eachother. went to the same school ect ect... tomarrow hopefully i can get some picture posted of the truck and the compounds, that is if the ole lady will let me brow her phone, being pregnant she is awful moody haha
