My name is Jay. I guess I'd consider myself a dieselhaulic. I should be attending DA meetings more often but I don't have the time. Between working (ok spending time) as an engineer designing automotive steering intermediate shaft and column assemblies for DriveSol (formerly Timken), I am an avid boater.
My current boat is an old 40 ft trawler powered by a single engine Ford-Lehman diesel. That takes up a huge portion of my time (oh yes there is some partying involved).
Right now I have just started a project of building a 1989 Cummins 6BT into a marine engine to repower the boat.
I drive a 91 D250 with a modified Cummins. Rust is taking her out but she has a few good years left in her, so I'll drive her until she collapses.
Oh yes, the wife drives a 99 Jetta TDI.
There, now I feel better.

Watch it, sandcrab!!

TugboatPhil requesting permission to come aboard. Retired from US Navy in 97. Briefly drove OTR until I started doing field work for mortgage companies (securing vacant houses, minor repair, evictions). Currently unemployed and being a drain on the economy.

Last half of my Navy career was driving Landing Craft Utility (LCU) 1653. 135 ft, 200 ton with 2 12V71 Detroits, 500 shaft hp ea. And a Harbor Tugboat (YTB) 780, with a 10 cylinder, 20 piston, Fairbanks Morse, 2000 shaft hp.

I enjoy complaining and being a general nuisance to all the enviro-hippies around here. I'd like to print bumper stickers that say, "I'm squandering every precious gallon that YOU are conserving."

Hello, Mark here.
I have owned a network/computer consulting business since 1995. I have a BFA (fine arts degree  ) and used to be a technical illustrator when there was such a thing. I have been married for over 21 years, and have a 16 year old son.
I love machines of all kinds, and making things run better than they should brings me joy.
I am a recovering G force junky, got rid of the HEMI Road Runner and the 'Cuda a long time ago, and swore off two, three, and four wheelers initially for my wifes sake... Now I have only my Dodge, but I can't leave it alone, and it never seems to have enough power!
I count myself lucky to have you all as friends.
