New from AK

Postby lifted_drifter » Thu Nov 11, 2010 12:23 pm

Been visiting this site for quite a while just to read up on 12 valves. Been looking for the right one for a while now and finally pulled the trigger on an 89 w250 with 112k miles on it previous owner was about 65 and owned the truck since 1991. I uploaded some pictures below.

Nice truck! Whereabouts do you live? I grew up on the Hillside.

Ok, well Peter's Creek, then Eagle River, then the hillside.

That was when there was only one high school in the south. ;)

I don't think I've ever seen a 1st gen in the snow with no rust on it. Don't they use salt up there?

And Welcome! ;)

Its been a couple years, but I dug back and found my old post. My old 89 is gone, had to sell it when I left college in Alaska. As much as I hated that, luck has it that I just found a 93 w350 dually with all the goodies, 5spd and factory tach. Hoping for 400whp with this one when im done. Just ordered a new southbend clutch for her and starting to get some other goodies on the way, contemplating a 14mm pump but im not sure how hardcore I want to go yet.

Anyways, Hi for a second time.

Welcome back!

My $.02, don't even waste your money on a 14mm H/R, 400 can be done on a 12mm...plenty of folks on here have done just that ;)

I will stick around this time. Got my buddy hooked and he just picked up a 93 ex cab as well. And the superduty is pretty but I think shes going to go, I can get more out of the ve for cheaper then I can the 6.0, and it probably wont break as much :)
