Can we have a link to common acronyms?

Postby 142autox » Fri Nov 11, 2011 5:15 pm

So the newbies, such as myself, have something to refer to when someone says "maybe you should check your FSS" etc? I've done a decent job of figuring out most of them but a list would be great.

Ha! You're very thorough. Nice, but I meant more relative to the forum.

I was thinking more exclusive to 1st Gens. Not the basics, like 4wd, abs, etc.

A couple off the top of my head here:

FSS- fuel shut-off solenoid
LPLP- low pressure lift pump
IP- injection pump
Sticks- fuel injectors
366 GSK- 3200 rpm govenor spring
KSB- German for cold start helper (not real scientific, it provides more fuel when the engine is cold)
727- 3 speed auto transmission in 89-91's
518- O/D automatic in 91.5-93's
PITA- pain in the @$$, often used when tracking down a wiring problem in a Dodge truck :P

W250- 4x4 250
D250- 2wd 250
VSS- Variable Speed Sensor
IAT- Intake Air Temp
Turbo- Thing on the exhaust manifold where air goes in and exhaust comes out. Witchcraft happens a lot to get this thing to work.
