Minimum # of posts to post in forsale section!

Postby CumminsPride » Sat Mar 28, 2009 5:12 am

I was just glancing through the forum this am and caught a For Sale add where the poster had 1 post. Most other forums require a minimum of 25 posts before you can post a new topic in any of the barter sections.

I think this would be a wise idea to limit spammers and other jerks from littering our happy little home with their free adds.

Sincerely

Wade

The rest of you guys need to comment on this. I know what you mean. It seems some guys just join for a quick add. One other thing is if this site has that kind of program the administrators can adjust for that. KEEP THE COMMENTS COMING.

It seems like a lotta 1st posters with something for sale in the last month or so. I never really thought about it, but it makes sense to make them be a member for a while. That way you at least get to know somebody before they screw you. More polite that way. ;)

Jeff, watch it or I'll make you drippy!

Pete, I know alot of people tune in to see what you will come up with next. Every site needs a clown. :joker: Wouldn't be as fun without ya.

Back on subject.

We are keeping an eye on the 1st time posters selling stuff. The minds that be see both sides of limits. " THE GOOD " There is one guy ( Mark Nixon ) selling lots of parts and he seems to be keeping up with questions. He just passed the 10th post posted. In this case I feel he is doing no harm and is adding to the site. " THE BAD " Some of the other " sellers " are just here looking for a sale and will be gone just as quick. I guess we will see what happens and if it continues to trend that way we will look again. :bigsmurf:

maybe new sellers, like mark nixon, who register and start selling parts right away, could somehow 'register' with a mod, giving there info and such. i come from the neon forums, were scamming happens quite a bit. i would be hesitant to buy anything from a person that only posts a few times and/or starts selling right after registering.

We all know people on those "neon" forums are just looking for a one nite stand!

OK, I spoke to the top dog. We are going to keep it the way it is for now. If you guys don't feel comfortable doing buisness with a newbie thats entirely up to you. I would not buy from a newbie. We do need to keep things civil. My mommy always told me if I did not have anything nice to say then don't say anything. I told her to " SHUT UP ".

Imagine, if you hadn't kept it like it is, you wouldn't have had me to wonder about.

I saw this topic long ago and was actually a bit miffed, yet amused, that my name SPECIFICALLY came up in this.
I got over it. :D

I can only imagine the carnage I would be forced to endure if I wasn't worthy of being here.
It would likely be with a series of bad VE pumps being slingshot off a broken Cummins serpentine belt.

Mark.
