Front end noise, 2 part question

#1 I'm getting a rattle-y noise coming from the right front area of the truck only when I'm moving (in 2wd). My guess is shot wheel bearings (I replaced front brakes a while ago, and didn't replace gasket or anything else in there).
#2 Since this previously mentioned job (I also added add-a-leafs to correct front end sag), when I'm in 4wd, and generally only when I'm pulling a grade or working it hard in some way, there is this squeaking (different than the first, it sounds like a LOUD "bedspring" creaking -- IE skreekaskreekaskreeka). Could this be wheel bearings as well, or related to the add a leafs. I might add that the truck has continued to work well despite these "nasty" noises, and has for several months of hard use. (I know, shouldn't be doing this, but It's my only truck, and a guy has to work).
Anyway, what say you?

I had a noise that I couldn't figure out for a while. Sounded like clunking, ticking but only in 2wd. Sound went away in 4wd. The hubs looked and felt ok. I repacked the front wheel bearings noise still there. I ended up replacing the hubs ($200) this last weekend and the noise went away had a bad hub. So you might check the hubs.

I ain't no expert as I have only replaced a few thousand; but, the loud squealing sounds like a dry front axle u-joint to me.

My guess would be u-joint also. I'd check them closely, might be all your problems.

Thanks to all, Especially bearkiller, who nailed the problem first go. I took the front driveshaft in to get rebuilt, and now everything is working real nice. Oh, and the first noise I described.... It was the same problem (driveshaft). One of my hubs was locked, spinning the crapped out shaft, making the noise . Anyway, we can't all be smart all the time, or it wouldn't mean anything anymore Thanks again everybody, this board is invaluable in keeping me on the road.
