I found a few sets on Summit's website, but I have no idea what i am looking at and what I need. Are the long style better or the short style. My leafs are realy tired and arching the wrong way if it makes any difference.

I found a local spring shop around here that has a set of spings for my truck sitting on the shelf. both are a set of 6 springs. He wants $175 each for them, $350 total. I don't think those come with u bolts and such but i am not sure. I didn't think that was too bad. I am going down to look at them on friday. We will see...

My crew cab donor was a W250 that had new springs put on by the previous owner. I was not satisfied with how they were performing with the truck setting empty. There was a small gap between the main leaf and the second leaf. This was caused by the main leaf bending downward at the tip of the second leaf down. I took them to my local spring shop and they cut off the main leaf eyelets and then turned it into the second leaf down by making a new main leaf for each side. I also found out that the 92-93 front springs are different because they have larger front mounting bolts than the pre 92's. Previous owner used the earlier springs with the newer brackets which was a sloppy fit.

if you add some leafs do you have to worry about the angle of the driveshaft? i think its called caster?

Caster is the relation of the top king pin and the bottom pin. If your top king pin is ahead of your bottom one it will wander. Its like when you were a kid and drove your bike. If the forks swept forward you could let go of the bars. Turn them around 180 degrees and do the same thing your face is roadburn. :D

I have not run them yet. I am still working on rebuilding the truck after a meeting with the back end of a minivan. almost done though.
