What lug nuts to get?

Postby 4x4 American » Tue Dec 13, 2011 1:13 pm

I bought 4 decent looking american racing wheels off my buddy who had them on his 86 ford idi. I went to put em on and the axle studs dont come out enough to use my old lug nuts. he dont have any lugs nuts with them, the guy gave them to him extra with the truck. the holes on the wheels for the axle studs to go through are so small that even them real skinny lug nuts wont work cause i cant get the special lug nut socket around it. my other buddy told me something about mackin lug nuts. I looked them up online and i see that there's open and closed end ones. I dont really understand the difference. anyone know what lug nuts to get? im pretty sure the threads are 1/2"-20.
Thanks, Doug

I bet if you do some checking. You need these type of lug nuts.

Any tire shop can get them. You need to know the opening size on the rim and your lug nut size. You can get them in open or closed end.

These look like they'd work. Thank you very much!
