Then I came across a guy parting a 1st gen on craigslist. Called him and asked if he had a Dana 70 with 354's. He said call back in 30 minutes and he'd let me know. Turned out he had one from a 93, Dana 70, 354's AND limited slip!! Asked him how much...expecting around $800...he says $400!! I went to pick it up and I got the U-joint straps and bolts, and the lower shock plates.....Couldn't be happier!!
So here it is....

Going to pull replace all the seals....new synthetic fluid...and re/re the brakes. Hope to have it in the truck before spring. Speaking of springs I now need to order a new set of rear springs....since I saved so much on the axle.
On a bit of a side note the guy I got the axle from liked my crewcab and proceeded to tell me about the one he built.
He built a long box, dually 4x4 with P.Pump motor with a set of twins, and a NV5600. Truck was black and silver and on 35's. I asked him where it was...he sad it's in Alaska. He was up there welding, and a local Guy HAD to have it and kept throwing money at him until he sold it. Said he really didn't want to sell it but the money, and deal, got too big for him to say no.
Wonder if anyone knows of this truck, or has pics?
