lifting/leveling my truck. Need advice

Postby 92strokersmoker » Wed Apr 06, 2011 10:29 pm

Im looking to level out my pickup. I have the factory blocks in the rear and nothing on the front with 305/85/16. The rears clear just fine but it leans foreward so much and the fronts rub occasionaly. I am looking into the skyjacker 2.5" or the add a leaf 2". Also going to call Alcan since they are just over in Co. My questions are; do i need to get a new drag link, will the factory shocks still mount in their original places and will I need anything else?

I don't know about a drag link, but you'll probably want a drop pitman arm. Your steering wheel won't be centered up otherwise. You should measure your shocks to be certain but I know my shocks won't be enough even for just a 2" lift. I jack the front of my pickup up and the axle only drops about 3" til the tires are off the ground. Besides, why put brand new springs on it and still use worn out shocks?

my truck is lifted 5inch in the front (over what it was when it was saggy and 33's would rub), my drag link has tons of play and pitman arm is fine too, my steering wheel of course is now upside down :? ...but my truck also never flexes, because my lleafs are mcmassive, if you wanted to offroad at all I would suggest to go with a crossover setup
