Rear bumper bracket measurements

Postby PJ 3 » Thu Jun 11, 2009 12:36 pm

I cannot seem to get my hands on some bumper brackets. I am changing my rear step bumper to the old style ramcharger chrome and was wondering if anyone had this type on thier truck. I need the dimensions of # 2 and # 3 in the picture below so that I can fab some up.

I'd appreciate that. The only concern I really have is the total depth so that the bumper doesn't protrude to far out the back. I'd like a snug fit.

The weather cleared and I finally got to re-fab my old brackets. No mods were necessary for # 5 and I cut one inch off # 6 and run a small 90 degree piece to line up the inner carriage bolts. I like the old style ramcharger bumper because it matches the front , although the step style was nice for climbing into the back with the tailgate up. Here's the results !

Its pretty funny. There are islands off the bay where I live ( fish ). They have 500,000 dollar boats and all of us have 40,000 dollar boats. The fishing is that much different with in 15 miles.

They would put any newcommers out of buisness in 1 night. There have been plenty of gun fights, boat sinkings, boat fires, house fires. It took me 10 years to fit in in my own town.

Two towns down they hooked a line on a boat that was on the mooring.
They dragged boat and mooring out to sea and the mooring pulled the
boat down. They sunk his boat cause he was fishing traps that belonged
to a fisherman who got dragged overboard and drowned. The good ole
boys did not like that. PJ, people sure don't understand lobstering
and how bad things can be. I am sure you have plenty of war stories.

I remember you said that before. Time to look for a new business if it gets that bad. :(
