19.5's

Postby ahale2772 » Tue Jul 26, 2011 7:26 am

Anyone know what 19.5 rims will fit on my truck (after a dually swap)?

Any advice on what tires to run?

I just ordered some Visions for my d350. Hopefully I'll get them by Wednesday. When I do I'll let you know how it goes, and post pictures.

If you thought it rode ROUGH before, add 19.5s and it'll rattle your teeth.
They are really stiff tires.
FYI, run 225/75/19.5s, because the 8R/19.5s from the bread trucks won't fit in the front fender wells.

yeah im wondering what stock style steel rims will fit, not aftermarket stuff (sorry if i didnt explain better). are there any that are direct bolt ons?

truck is lifted enough in the rear to never hit the fender wells, but the front will need a little lift i guess.

i snagged a set of ford stock 16 inch dually rims (may be 16.5 i didnt check) ... guess ill just run those till i can find a set of 19.5s that will fit on the rear. (kinda want to keep my bfg 33's up front (non-dually) and just get 19.5's for the rear because they come very close to 33'' tall)

Well I got my wheels today. They look good, but the 5/8" lug holes aren't jiving with my 5/8" lugs. Not good. My stock rims lug hole measure out to 11/16". Any pointers on swapping out lugs?

quote from Mark Nixon:

FYI, if you want to keep all the lug nuts the same as the rear, a Chevy 1 ton stud from a '91 K series (4wd) will fit in the Dodge hub.
It uses the same shank with the smaller thread diameter (9/16" instead of 5/8").

hey, Bringing this back up.

anyone know what trucks use 19.5 rims as stock equiptment??

looking to snag a set form a junkyard or something.

f450 fords? or do they use a different bolt pattern? ive even seen some on never chevys?

im talking steel HD work truck rims, not expensive alloys.

I really want to throw duallys on my truck but want to do something more than 16/16.5

BREAD TRUCKS, aka P-30 or Grumman Stepvans.
You need to open up the centers and possibly the lug nut holes for a 1st gen.

They are usually 8R-19.5s, but I've seen a few later ones with 225-75-19.5s, which are a bit shorter and wider.
I have 2 bare wheels here.

Old super duty fords ( 89 to 96or7 I think) are ten lug as well and 16". No help to you but thought I'd share.

haha, thanks Ellis.

If i had money I might consider trying to convert the truck to 10 lug...but If I did I would do that by putting different axles in, not adapters

I'm just looking for a set of dually rims and tires that will last me for years and be trouble free. I'm allready sick of the 37's because of how they ride (flatspots)

just for once I'd like to have no vibrations, I dont care about a harsh ride but I dont like seeing my front end vibrate apart from a set of tempermental tires

im gona go junkyard diving again this weekend and see what I can find
