How fast does your truck go? 3.08s were the only option available in the old non-OD trucks AFAIK, but If your truck can go faster than 70MPH, it's pretty well has to have 3.08s.

When I first got it stock wouldnt break 70, now barely 85mph max, after 60 takes along time to hit it, so does that mean probably 3.08s

You have 3:08's. You wouldn't get above about 60 with 3:54's.

Also, why are you changing them, do you tow heavy with it? I run 3.08s with a getrag and 32" tires. There's a funny spot right around 45-50 where I can't quite go into 5th yet, but otherwise it's nice to drive. The tall gears are good for getting the turbo spooled down low and you get to drive it like an actual 5 speed.

You have the "SPECIAL" Dana 61/71 combo that will take ring gear spacers to set up with 3:54-4:10 gears. The housings are cast differently to make room for the big pinion needed for the 3.07 gearset. MANY out there would trade you their 3.54/4:10 axles straight across for yours. I ran 3.07s with the getrag in two of my trucks in the past. It is a great setup to allow you to tow in 4th... (easy on the trans)
