Looking for dually light mounting information

Postby Bschwarzli » Sat Jan 28, 2012 8:54 am

So, I have this wonderful idea of adding the 5 rear clearance lights to the truck as it never had any. Question is where do I put the holes!? I have no 350 friends locally to measure off of. Are they on the tailgate, the box?? Also how far apart and how are they centered?

Next question is how are they mounted? Screws? Bolts?

Thanks,

Robert

They are mounted to the tailgate. standing back, they should be in line with the fender lights. The harness goes thru the left side tailgate hinge.

OK. That makes sense. As for distance apart?

Some guys put them under the gate on the bed for more protection and they don't have to be unplugged to remove the gate. Depends on how original you want it to look. ;)

Just enough power to break everything behind the crankshaft.

I did that on my srw w350. I liked it. But the tailgate lights all lined up with the fender lights look pretty cool. Ill have to look, but last I knew I had a tailgate harness. Wouldn't be hard to duplicate it with readily available connectors.
