AC Compressor

Postby Hansen01 » Thu May 03, 2012 6:22 pm

Would anyone happen to know where to get a decently priced ac compressor, or a part number?

Good luck finding ANYTHING, much less reasonably priced, for the A/C compressor on a Non-Intercooled truck.
To date, I've yet to find a new compressor clutch assembly for a non-intercooled A/C compressor.

You'd be better off to upgrade to the I/Ced compressor, if your's has any issues at all.
In order to do that, you need to swap out the lower coolant outlet/compressor mount.
It may require a different belt that's not listed as "factory", as well.

Actually, that you can even GET one, let alone the cost, is sort of a miracle.
Make sure it's a Lifetime warranty, you may need it.

would you, or anyone else, happen to know the part number? i looked at mine and all i come up with is 09104 witch does not match the part number on the Oreillys one.

If the picture is correct, which I believe it is, that is the right one.
The number you mentioned is probably a vendor casting code.
Either Cummins or Dodge uses a 7 digit number for their part OR casting numbers.
Some later Dodge stuff is also 8 digit.

well thank you Mark, i think i may just order my stuff from Oreillys then.
i also found this http://www.ebay.com/itm/57106-REMAN-A-C ... %26ps%3D54
But the way you describe these compressors it sounds like i need to go with the more exspensive one for longjevity,

Not to be Donnie Downer here, but if the compresser from O'Reillys is painted black,it won't live long. I've used them, had customers bring them and its always the same thing. Leaks and noises :yuck:

1yr iirc w/ dryer and exp valve bought at the same time.

FWIW autozone has a better warranty and will be the same part. Give the OReilly part number to the Autozone Roid you talk to, they should be able to cross it in there system. It'll be a Murry part number, which both carry.
