Can I go from 7:17 back to 3:07 in same carrier?
And is that a good ratio for a 90 1st gen w/auto,no od?

The 3.07s are what you have to have to get up to highway speed without O/D. Technically the 3.07 axles are D71s

So you have an old tug. No you can't go to 3:07's in that axle you currently have. The 3:07 uses a different housing. That is why its called a 71. You have a 70.

Update:Iv found a donor truck.
96 w3500 4x4,3:55 ratio.
It has a nv4500.I might be wrong,im thinking the trans has an overdrive.
Up for grabs @ this time,8.0 V10 and cab parts(nice doors,otherwise rotted)
