Sounds like a good idea
Leaf springs are not so bad, they can give you a lot of droop.
Do you intend to use in on the road much as well?
I run 56" and 64" in my Chevy and it flexes really well, and performs perfectly offroad.
But it's got pretty poor handling on the road, but I think that could be fixed with the addition of a panhard bar.
And if done correctly that doesn't have to limit flex much at all.
The 56" springs are overkill though, so stick to the 52" like you've planned.
The 56" springs also gives unnecessary issues with caster and drive shaft angle, due the the axle not being centered on the leaf.
If you're building a truggy I would consider going with 52" or 56" in the rear though, to be able to get a better departure angle.
But if you're going to use a regular bed, that won't be the limiting factor
I've been looking into doing this spring swap with my dodge as well,
but with out cutting of the tabs that limits droop, and with a shorter shackle.
You're going to have to move the front hanger 2" forward to keep the axle in it's stock location.
But I would consider moving it further forward for better tire to fender well clearance,
problem is you might have to lengthen the frame some for that, but I don't think it would be a big deal.
One more thing, crossover steering will be an absolute must, if you don't have it already.
Proof that leafs can flex:
