D vs. W...what's the difference?

Postby 762frmafr » Thu Sep 12, 2013 6:23 pm

So I am pretty new to the first gen trucks. I have been reading here and other places and I see that there are D trucks and W trucks. What is the difference? Thank you. And if this has been discussed already I apologize.

D model is 2WD and W is 4x4 or as we like to call it $X$.

I'm not worried about the ride. In my opinion, a 2wd truck is about as useful as tits on a hog.

Funny thing about tits on a hog, they kinda need them to produce young

I personally have zero use for 4x4,other than to cost me money. Everybody has different needs.

A SOW needs tits....not a HOG. City boy I see. No wonder you haven't figured out a use for 4wd yet. :o

I just don't have a need for it,the most dirt my truck sees is the drive way or the parking lot at my shop. If I actually have time to hunt I fire off the Forman and it gets me where I need to go,cheaper on the wallet to. Last 4x4 truck I had actually was handy a time or two.....for my "friends". I got to hear "hey man, I'm stuck can you come pull me out" more than I wanted so I sold that thing.

One thing about it.....the resale is way better on them with 4wd than 2. Your gonna find that out for sure.

Oh I have been shopping for a while. I have already found that out. I am thinking maybe buy a 2wd and swap it to 4wd. Could end up cheaper and or better in the long run.
