Neat Concept - Sliding Shackles

Postby m880cummins » Wed Dec 04, 2013 8:15 pm

I imagine some have seen this before, not sure how well it would hold up with a cummins in the front. I have also seen the same thing but with sealed ball bearings instead of plastic blocks

Depending on the plastic, and the finish you put on the steel that slides on it, it may last a long time. That UHMW plastic is some tough stuff, it's slick and resists abrasion naturally. A polished-ish finish on the steel would probably be just as good as any shackle.

Lots of off road only trucks run them. I had diy4x.com build me a smaller set for my car but haven't installed them yet. Mine are ball bearings.
