Fuel Gauge issues

Hey guys this site is awesome!!! :P
I love my 1st gen but there is a few problems, today I fueled up and went home hooked up to the trailer and i noticed that my fuel gauge was on empty. im guessing it is the sender but i just dont know for sure.
Cummins 250 bd xxx injectors, stage iv/18, bhaf, fuel pin, 3200 gsp, valet swtch, isspro tach, autometer pyro and boost, full screw turned up

Could just be a loose connection or broken wire. Open circuit = empty, full = short to ground.

thanks for the info, where do you think i should start looking?

unplug the the wire from the sending unit and ground the sender wire going to the gauge, if the gauge reads full its the sender unit ,if it doesnt, then what wannadiesel said check for loose connections or possibly bad gauge.

I have a '91 with a problem. When in neutral or any forward gear, the fuel gauge reads full, but in reverse, it reads empty. What's going on?!

Warpman89- sounds like a ground issue to me, but I'm no expert. I just get myself by til next week.
