In that case the master cylinder will likely need to be replaced.

You can make a new, better rod if you feel like putting some work into it.

I'll sniff around and find the writeup on it.

Tacoclaw wrote:(Obligatory "That's what she said" for all my rod references)

Did some clutch linkage work this evening, it helped but I think it's time for a fluid change in the ol' Getrag.

It's a little longer than the old rod, but my locknut is hella thick so I'll put one about 1/3 the thickness on there and it'll even things out. Right now I bottom out the master before the pedal hits the floor.

You can see where I cheated and "adjusted" the pedal with some cutting and welding when I first put it in. I also welded up and reground the pin in the pedal itself, but by some miracle the pot metal master rod ate through it already.

The user "Meiser" on here has a write up on how he fixed his the first time with epoxy and whatnot, but apparently it broke again and he documented his fix over on the Expedition Portal forum he seems to frequent the most. I'm gonna steal his other post about it and add it to the one here. With as much E-cred as possible. :)

I found mine laying around at work, dunno where Metcalf found his.

You could get on Amazon and type in 3/8x3/8" rod end and probably get one in two days on Prime.

Any idea where I can or does someone have the length of the rod at the other end of it

Like where it pushes on the piece connected to the throw out bearing

Honestly, you could take your old rod and a 3/8 bolt to anybody with a lathe and they could turn it out pretty much by eye. Even a machine shop wouldn't charge much for the job. Just make sure you give them a bolt that matches the thread in your rod end.
