Lower life style?

Postby v8coupe » Wed Jun 11, 2014 4:37 pm

Ok I know this is going to be a little different then most, but I want to lower my D350.

It's a 2wd Dually and I use it to tow so it still must be able to take a large load. Has anybody lowered there D series?

Have Facebook? If so, look up the 1972-1993 Dodge Truck group. They have a lot of good ideas.

From what I gather, a D150 drop spindle with a pre-85 3/4T wheel bearings will swap into our trucks. Or just do what most do and that's use air bags.

The van lower control arms are used on the light D250 and D150 because they have a pocketed spring mount where the others are flat. Since ours are already pocketed you will see no drop. The drop spindle a I don't have much info on still researching. You can flip the rear axle for a 4"+ drop in the rear and use shorter could in the front. If you are wanting yo go crazy C-notch it and put it on air with drop spindles, pie cut uppers, reverse pie cut lowers.

Yeah you cut a small triangle out of steel then cut the side metal in the control arm out by where the ball joint goes. Heat it up and bend the ball joint area down and weld the triangle in to help ball joint angles. The lowers you cut a small triangle out of the control arms and Ben it down until they touch and weld it solid.

So in theory you could pull it and replace it with a new tubular unit to relocate it.
