You could. Just be careful not to overload it, as just because it has heavier springs doesn't mean it can carry more weight, it can carry it better though, i.e., less sag with a load. It will stiffen things up a bit too. My W350 had so many stress cracks from years of bouncing around from the overly stiff springs, the be had only two areas that were attached to the frame. All the others had cracked apart. Adding helper/overload springs and/or air bags is an alternative, and can net better empty ride results.

Okay so does anyone know which aftermarket springs are the best to lift the front end a few inches?

Depends on the state of your existing leafs. Pretty sure that is the size of tire i run with new 2" lift springs.

I ran 285's on the stock steel wheels for a while on my 92 with sagged front springs, and no rubbing of the fenders...I did have to trim the very bottom leading edge of the fender trim. I ran 305/70 17's on 3rd gen wheels, and they would rub the drag link a little at full right, no biggie for me, but everyone has their own preferences ;)

I run and recommend Atlas leaf springs... had nothing but rave reviews on them, they offer an expedition pack. The expedition pack is a "towing" pack. Rides better than stock, but stiffens up quick and is strong for a heavy load.
