First gen specific hitch?

Postby peytonmaterne » Wed Sep 10, 2014 6:00 pm

Looking for a class V hitch that actually lines up well with the holes in the frame, not one that fits multiple makes.

I installed a class v hitch off a '12-'13 Ford F350 single wheel. I got it as partial payment to a welding job, and dimensionally it lines up pretty close. I did have to drill acouple holes, and you loose the spare under the bed, but works great.

Part of the reason for placement was due to some frame rivits i had to work around, plus the po installed a class 0 hitch, was rated for like 500lbs total, and towed a boat with it. They presidential solution it on the truck, so it bent part of the lower webbing. I had to push the hitch forward, but ended up working out, hitch tube doesn't hang out much. Its rated for 17,500 with proper weight hitch, and I think 1750# tongue weight

Just about all the hitches today you'll have to drill holes.

Looks beefy to me...

IIRC a couple lined up, maybe 2 out of the 8 mounting bolts there were. Mine uses 2.5" receivers but ford graciously includes a 2" adapter tube.

Honestly I really don't need a hitch that big, but it was free, and worked out
