How big of a tire before needing a lift?

Postby Bschwarzli » Wed Oct 01, 2014 2:55 pm

Hey Guys,

I am wanting to stick a 245/70/19.5 under the crew cab. That works out to a 33.0/9.65/19.5 in english.

But I am worried about hitting the fender when I turn or the leaf spring.

So question is, anyone know what max tire sizes that one can stick under a truck at stock ride height? I am sure someone must have tried larger tires!

Thanks!

Robert

I have spun 225/70/19.5's on my 2WD, so I would think the 245's would clear on a 4WD. Just my .02 worth :)

I'm running 33x12.50x16.5s according to this there yours are pretty much the same size.

I will say this also they will rub the fender if I off road it BUT my cab and stuff is all rusted out, so the body flexes really badly.

That helps guys! Thanks! If your 33's are fitting, at that much wider, I should be fine. And if 225 will fit a 2wd, I agree with your theory as well.

Thanks guys!!

Im running 255/85-16 which is roughly 33.5x10 and it cleared everything even before I lifted the front 2.5"

Only thing to watch out for is since they're 19.5's they may tuck in a good bit. It'll help them clear the fenders, but may cause some interference with your draglink. Depends on how skinny they are.

Here's the setup I always use, it's super-handy if you know your offset and stuff.
