NP205 Mounting Studs

Postby bgilbert » Sun Nov 09, 2014 8:01 pm

Anyone know a source for the fine thread x coarse thread tcase to tranny mounting studs? I'm sure NAPA has something close, but I figured I'd ask here first in case they are special or 'dodge different'. Do they need to have that short unthreaded portion at the tip on the fine thread side?

I would imagine you could use a stud with consistent thread and use different nuts as well if it came down to it.

I haven't taken an old one into NAPA or Oreilly yet. I was really hoping ebay or someone online offered a direct replacement :( .

Posted a few links earlier but looks like they switched to a metric stud in the late 80's, 04505365 is the Chrysler part number and it should be easy to get at a dealer since they were used to 2011 in other applications.

Well I ordered part number 04505365 and the accompanying fancy washer/nut/locknut. I can post the part number for the nuts if anyone wants it. Turns out the front adapter/bowl I have doesn't have metric threads lol. It makes sense if they switched to a metric stud in late 80's (^didn't read that part previously), the adapter I got from Ike, he said it was from a 70's or early 80's 1 ton Dodge IIRC. The threads in this bowl are standard coarse thread. Also, FWIW, 04505365 is slightly different and shorter than the studs in other bowls I have around the shop.

Iz69, if you have a link for the other standard thread stud, please post it. Thanks.
