Front End Lift

Postby Bobalix » Thu Feb 12, 2015 8:31 am

93 w250 le 4x4.
How far can I lift the front end before I need to change the steering components. Was thinking about new leaf springs. The existing ones are flat, almost recurved. How do I know what stock height was? Rear is higher and just want to level the truck out .

Many can get away with 3-4" if you buy the chevy adjustable drag link.

And do a few other things...

92-93 "W" trucks had taller rear suspension blocks, increasing the rake compared to earlier trucks. The front springs "new" were almost flat. If you want to level it out, 2-3" of lift will get you there. The Skyjacker adjustable drag link, although spendy, is a bolt in and go deal. The GM version requires a few more parts to get it to work, but if you can acquire said parts for next to nothing, its worth it.

And I put 4" gasser springs in the front of mine, which gave me 2.5" of lift. At the time anyway. Pretty sure theyve sagged since then. I think they were rough country springs. Something i already had laying around so I just used them. I wouldnt reccommend them if youre in the market to buy new springs.
