Well crap lol. Yea my truck has the 6" blocks under Tue rear springs. Maybe I could just use them on the front or something since they're ordered already and should be here any day..

The 58496 is for the front, not the rear.

I found some shocks for the rear. Monroe 58571, they're listed for 81-93 W250 trucks but I assume its for the the ones with the shorter lift blocks like non I/c ones because they are just a couple inches shorter extended. I might be able to lower the upper shock mounts though.

I'm going to let the 'ol piggy bank recoup for a bit and get a set ordered unless I find something different.

Those were for the 2wds. In my search I haven't found one for the rear. There is an option though, a coil spring that clamps around the tube of your current shock. Tried them on a heavy old car before with good success, but never on a truck. The other option is air shocks.

I have shocks off the back of a 02 super duty 4x4 on the back of my D250. Just sayin shocks off a different application may work as well.

The travel of the shock vs the travel of the suspension? Not enough is just as bad as too much. Somethin is gunna break.

I don't know what kind of flexing you all are doing, but there's no way my truck is moving it's shocks the full length of travel.

Smear some grease around the shock shaft, drive/tow around, and see where it wipes it to, that'll give you your collapsed bump. Then jack/pick up the hitch and measure how far it droops. If you're just driving/towing then I doubt you're gonna need full travel.

I don't do any serious off road with the truck or anything but I do load the bed down heavy at times.

Must be nice having good roads, no such luck around here. Shocks and tires have a short life up here.

Some of the roads here aren't great. Especially the dirt roads and county black top roads. Half of my daily trip is basically non stop pot holes and washboards. Some days the question of "why do I use a W350 as a daily driver" crosses my mind.

I got those shocks I bought (58496) installed on the front of my truck. It turns out they needed changed anyway so worked out great. It gained 1/2" lift in the front with the new ones 8) .

Still need some for the rear axle.
