88 D150 auto onto 89 W350 manual frame... Will it work?

Postby 762frmafr » Mon Mar 30, 2015 2:32 pm

I have found a rust free cab off of a 1988 D150 auto 45 minutes away from me. My truck is a cab and chassis W350 manual. What is different? What needs to be done to use this cab? Will body lift spacers work for tunnel clearance?

Don't do a body lift, cut out the larger tunnel and weld or screw it in place of the smaller one on the 88 cab. not sure on firewall differences though. I used a 93 D150 cab on my 91.

I have an '86 cab on my '92. The donor was an auto, so I cut the hump from my (5 speed) cab and screwed it into the 86 (auto) cab. If you can find my cab swap thread I'm pretty sure there are pics in there that may help.

Just enough power to break everything behind the crankshaft.
