Half ton leaf spring swap?

Postby TheSilverBullet » Wed Jul 15, 2015 6:32 am

My old 90 is in dire need of some new springs after many years of pulling a trailer. Being "economic" minded with this truck I have bought a nice 85 2wd for some body parts. The truck is low mile and from KY.

The springs look the same as mine just I imagine rated for less load. Since my front hangers have egged holes I'm going to pull those off and consider running those springs along with an air bag kit. Or should I just she'll out some cash for a set of springs?

I rebuilt a set for the rear on my 91 and threw in a few new ones to replace the broken ones, I say use what you got unless you want to drop the coin on a nice set of Alcans, Atlas, or whomever built set.
