2nd gen dually adapters

Postby DodgeFreak » Wed Sep 02, 2015 7:26 pm

Hey I seen someplace someone used 2nd gen dually adapters on a 1st gen 4x4. Does anyone know any more details on how to make them work?

You need to have 9/16's studs a little longer than the stocks studs. One of our lug nuts on the adapter only has two threads into the nut. Plus the adapter can move with the 1/2 studs you have.

NAPA does have a 9/16's stud with the same sized knurled section. I don't have the number for it.

Thanks! I figured I needed 9/16th studs since that's what the 2nd gens ran. And thanks for the heads up on the longer studs. Will any 2nd gen adapter work?? Also did anything need machined?

Dorman 610-283 has the same knurl diameter, but since I did the conversion, there are even longer studs now, about 3" long. The ones I used are about 2 1/2" long. I don't have the part number for the longer studs, but I'll do some digging quick...

I just saw on the Book of Faces yesterday that Chevy adapters fit perfectly.

I noticed that as well, but wasn't sure if they just "slid" over the hub and bolted into place?
