Parking Brake not effective

Postby 93DodgeCummins » Tue Sep 29, 2015 8:55 am

Since I have owned my truck, the parking brake was never really effective. It will not hold it in place on the slight incline of my driveway. Are the parking brakes in these trucks just that bad or is there something else. I have replaced the drums, and pads not too long ago. I adjusted the pads so they were rubbing just a little. I thought I would have gotten better results on the parking brake. The cables are adjusted as well so the pedal returns when the brake is released.

The parking brake in my truck actually held real well, I had replaced almost all the pieces in the drum and both rear cables and it worked real good when adjusted correctly
