93 W350 lowering

Postby v8coupe » Tue Nov 17, 2015 3:58 pm

Now I know this might not be a real popular topic here, but I'll try it. So earlier this year I crashed my 91 D350 into a solid light poll in Ohio. So it was destroyed, and has been replaced by a 1993 W350. The W350 is way taller than my older D350 ever was, so I would really like it lowered. The rears I know roughly how to do, but what about the solid axle front?

Besides it sitting taller, why would you want to lower it? There isn't much room between the axle and the rest of the truck, so you're pretty much SOL. Keep it in one piece and get another D350 ;)

You can do a spring under axle conversion on front.

That is going to be hard to do. The right side spring mount is cast into the center section. So the lower mount will have to be very custom. Also with the cast center section getting weld to stick to it will be a night mare. The clearance for a road bump would be very small.

You could probably sell the W-350 and pick up a D-350 pretty easy. I know I'd trade you a D-350 for a W-350 :alien: The D-350 rear could then be converted to under axle and the front can be air bagged pretty easly.
